Men of Distinction

The “Masonic Day of Light” is a one day conferral system. 4 of the men in this photo are now Hays Boys.

James M Hays Lodge has always been a lodge with men of distinction. Even as we prepare for our monthly meeting, we prepare internally as well as externally. Having a mindset of distinction means we prepare.

Signature Events

Whether it is our annual crawfish boil or Shed Lodge where we take over a big warehouse, smoke up some briskets and play with our trebuchet or corn hole bean bag toss, we don’t go half way.

If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well.

To create a plan is to create an intention to succeed. Whether it’s at the beginning of a Mans journey into our craft, a brothers first time conferring a degree upon a new candidate or our plans for later in our own life, Masons plan.

Hays is a dark coat and tie lodge for our monthly business meetings. At first new members may not understand the importance of dressing up until they look around and see everyone else who has prepared themselves both in their minds, and their external look. After a while, Masons start to notice that it has less to do with an unnecessary inconvenience and more to do with developing both self-discipline and a feeling of equality among all the brethren, whatever their vocation in life.

Better men, better husbands and better fathers

It’s not like it is possible to just flip and switch after a man is raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason.  Self improvement, which we teach with the aid of what we call working tools, is a lifelong endeavor. These are moral and ethical reminders that we can carry with us into our daily lives, which in turn works to reinforce our internal strengths and strengthen our moral compasses.
